Timeline to Save Our Crown

  • September 2020 – Planning application is submitted. Decision deadline was November 2020, but the District Council is experiencing delays

  • October 2020 – The ‘Save our Crown’ group conducted a community survey with a really positive response.

  • November 2020 – The Parish Council successfully registered the pub as an ‘Asset of Community Value’ on 17th November 2020 and as the pub is already on the market, we have 6 months (17th May 2021) to submit our community bid.

  • January 2021 – draft Shares Prospectus produced and the community were asked to pledge their intentions to buy shares.

  • February 2021 – Wonderful response from our community. Pledges submitted to buy £110,000 in shares and £20,000 in loans

  • TBC – Community business (Community Benefit Society) established

  • TBC – Shares purchased and grants awarded, community bid submitted (deadline – 17th May 2021)

  • TBC – Business Buyers Report and structural surveys etc

  • TBC – Pub purchased, refurbished and reopened
